Agency FAQ

Frequently asked questions about agency-specific engineering partnerships.

Partnership

Do you work as a white-label engineering partner?

Yes. Most agency partnerships are completely white-label. I work as an extension of your team, representing your agency rather than my own business.

Will clients know you're an external contractor?

Only if you want them to. Some agencies introduce me as part of the engineering team, while others are transparent about using external specialists. I'm comfortable with either approach.

Can you join client meetings?

Yes. I regularly participate in discovery sessions, planning meetings, technical workshops, sprint reviews, and stakeholder calls whenever it's helpful.

What makes a good agency partnership?

The best partnerships are built on trust, clear communication, realistic timelines, and shared ownership of delivering great work. My goal is to become a reliable extension of your team rather than simply another contractor.

Communication

How do you communicate?

I adapt to your existing workflow. Whether your team uses Slack, Teams, Linear, Jira, Notion, ClickUp, or GitHub, I work inside your process instead of introducing my own.

Do you work with your own project management system?

No. I integrate into your tools and delivery process so communication stays in one place.

Can you work with our designers?

Absolutely. Most of my projects begin with Figma files. I collaborate closely with designers to ensure the final product matches the intended experience while remaining technically maintainable.

Projects

What kind of projects do you take on?

Typical projects include: new product development, SaaS platforms, internal business systems, customer portals, ecommerce applications, mobile applications, API integrations, and existing product improvements.

Can you take over an existing codebase?

Yes. A large portion of my work involves understanding existing systems, improving architecture where necessary, and continuing development without disrupting ongoing work.

Do you work with startups?

Yes, provided the project has a clear scope and realistic expectations. I also work with established agencies and growing software companies.

Do you only build new products?

No. I also improve existing applications by fixing technical debt, modernising architecture, improving performance, and shipping new features.

Technical

What technologies do you use?

I choose technologies based on project requirements rather than personal preference. Most of my recent work involves modern JavaScript and TypeScript ecosystems, React, Next.js, Astro, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and cloud infrastructure.

Do you help with technical architecture?

Yes. I regularly contribute to system design, API architecture, database modelling, deployment strategy, and long-term maintainability.

Collaboration

Can you work with our internal developers?

Absolutely. I often collaborate with in-house engineering teams, contributing features, reviewing pull requests, documenting decisions, and helping improve development processes.

Do you write documentation?

Yes. Every project includes clear documentation where appropriate, making it easier for your team to maintain and extend the software after delivery.

Process

How do you estimate projects?

After an initial discovery conversation, I break work into clear milestones and provide realistic estimates based on the available information. If requirements evolve, estimates evolve with them.

Do you work on fixed-price or hourly projects?

Both. Smaller, clearly defined projects are often fixed price. Longer-term agency partnerships are typically billed on a retained or day-rate basis.

Can you scale with larger projects?

Yes. I regularly collaborate with agencies, designers, and additional developers when projects require a broader team.

Do you provide ongoing support?

Yes. Many agency relationships continue beyond the initial delivery through feature development, maintenance, performance improvements, and technical consulting.

Availability

How quickly can you start?

Availability varies depending on existing commitments. If I can't start immediately, I'm happy to discuss timelines and future availability.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. I'm comfortable signing non-disclosure agreements and working with confidential products before launch.

Do you work with agencies outside your country?

Yes. I work remotely with agencies and product teams across different time zones and have established workflows for asynchronous collaboration.
